Kodachadri: Huddled in the Western Ghats, this trekker’s paradise is situated in Karnataka. It is a mountain peak with an altitude of 1343 m above sea level. Atop the rocky peak, is a point which gives a spectacular view of an enchanting sunset over the Arabian Sea. Also, there is a sunrise point, giving a breathtaking view of the rising sun. The rugged path to the top of the peak is a jeep track. The jeep ride is an experience in itself with no road at all, but just a rocky pathway.

Kumara Parvatha: Considered to be the toughest trekking spots in Karnataka, this place is a graduation point of sorts for hard core trekkers, since their trekking life is said to be incomplete without at least one trek here. After the arduous climb up its steep incline, this hill situated 4000m above sea level gives way to an extremely beautiful view of forests, acres of fields and the powerful Western Ghats standing with pride. The famous pilgrim spot, Shri Kukke Subrahmanya Kshetra is situated very close to this peak.

Agumbe: This little town in Shimoga, 380 km from Bangalore is famous for its fantastic sunset view point. The sun reflects off the Arabian Sea onto the horizon giving a majestic appeal to this wonderful phenomenon.  This place also holds the record for the highest rain fall in the Karnataka region and has three major waterfalls to its credit. This scenic place has been the backdrop for the popular TV serial of yester years, the Malgudi Days.



Gopala swamy betta: – Also called as Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta this is the highest peak in Bandhipur, 75 km away from Mysore. Trekking at this spot gives you an up-close experience with the low hanging clouds, through which you would have to walk as you make your way up. The 77 lakes, big and small ones that surround this hill contribute to the awesome view from up. The ancient temple of Lord Venugopala Swamy which was built seven centuries ago rests atop this peak.
